MPLN Minutes for February 14, 2012
Sue Staker called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm. in MVCC Cactus Room.
Sue Staker, Deb Bunker, Rita Smith, Pat Mersy, Joyce Sutay, Karen Koch, Edie Randall, Raye Cobb, Louise Bidwell, Holly Rivere, Kay Tomaszek, Karyle Steele, Pat Steffans, Marilyn Horn, Kathy Schoenwetter, and Jackie Webster attended the meeting.
The Minutes for the January Board Meeting were corrected and approved.
The Minutes for the January General Membership Meeting were approved.
Karyle Steele gave a treasurer’s reflecting a balance of $6,734.24.
OLD BUSINESS
Sue Staker read the wording of the By-Law change proposed last month. It creates a non-voting Board advisory position for the immediate Past-President. At the same time we will be eliminating the position of Greens Committee Chair. This change will be distributed via e-mail and posted on the web-site for 30 days.
We still need an event chairman for the Ya-Ya Sisterhood in July.
Sue Staker shared thank-you notes from Mike Jahaske, Tucson Girls Golf and Melissa Redmond.
NEW BUSINESS
Sue Staker led a discussion about our desire to have major prize winners attend the installation Dinner. Pat Mersy moved that the three major award winners( Low Gross, Low Net, and Most Improved) receive special invitation by Out-Going President to attend the Installation Dinner at the subsidized cost even if they are not joining the following year. This motion was seconded by Holly Rivere and carried.
Rita Smith is still looking for three more to play in the Robson Challenge.
Louise Bidwell reported that the Rally numbers are down but we are still hopeful for a good showing.
Next Meeting Mar 13th will be in the Sonoran Room.
